Podiatry and Chiropody
Podiatry (non surgical) can help if:
  • you have recurrent injuries to your back, legs or feet and physiotherapy helps but does not last.
You may need to be assessed biomechanically and have us alter the way in which your body moves and functions. Often relief can be achieved by having the cause treated rather than just the symptom.
  • you are concerned with the way you or your child walks such as an in-toe or out-toed gait
  • you have clawed or hammer toes
  • you have stress fractures of the feet
  • you have any painful areas on your feet or ankles that are nor requiring surgery
  • you require conservative management of bunions
  • you have plantar fasciitis
  • you have any soft tissue deformity
  • you suffer from in-growing toe nails
  • you have corns, callouses or verrucae
  • you are in the early stage of Morton's Neuroma
  • you have ankle sprains
  • you have problems with your Achilles tendons
  • you would like to increase the speed of healing, reduce bruising and return to work more quickly or sporting activities. To achieve this we use low power laser following surgery or injury.
The evaluation and assessment of gait problems is our speciality.

No 'off the peg' or temporary devices are used in our clinic.
Plaster of Paris bandage is used to take moulded casts of the patients' feet in the corrected position. These casts, together with measurements of joint ranges are forwarded to a laboratory where prescription devices are made.
Different materials are used; the most corrective is carbon fibre - but for our sports devices and older or arthritic patients a more forgiving, cushioning shell is prescribed.

We are also trained in fitting and supplying MBT physiological footwear. We stock all sizes and styles and will spend as much time as you need to find the style for you. They may be used pre or post-operatively, to aid balance, posture and to help overcome painful walking. They improve muscle function and also help to lengthen tight muscles in the leg.
The cushioned 'sensor' in the sole absorbs shock with every step you take which makes it ideal for arthritic patients or those with a neuropathic disorder such as diabetes. We are happy for you to experience the 'MBT' with no obligation to purchase.
